½ cup shortening
½ cup crunchy peanut butter
½ cup white sugar
½ cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
¾ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Cream together the shortening, peanut butter and sugars. Beat in egg. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; gradually stir into the peanut butter mixture. Cover and refrigerate dough for at least one hour.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Make small balls of dough. Flatten with fork dipped in flour to form cross-wise pattern.

2/3 cup butter, softened
2/3 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, cream butter, shortening and sugars until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Beat in eggs and vanilla. 1 1/4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon fine salt
8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
3/4 cup smooth peanut butter, at room temperature
1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 organic large egg, at room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup peanut butter chips
1/4 cup granulated sugar (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Whisk together the dry ingredients in a medium bowl. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, peanut butter, and brown sugars. Stir in the egg and vanilla.
