1 (16 ounce) bag cabbage
6 green onions, chopped fine

2 teaspoons sesame seeds
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/2 cup light olive oil
2 teaspoons vinegar
salt and black pepper

Steps:

  • Toast sesame seeds and almonds in oven, (use separate pans, they don't take the same amount of time to toast) I actually put the broiler on and put the pans on the bottom shelf to broil.
  • It only takes a few minutes.
  • Take the packet of seasoning that comes in the Ramen Noodle and mix it with the oil and vinegar (shake to mix well) Pour cabbage in bowl, chop green onion, add toasted almonds and seeds, pour dressing over cabbage then crumble raw noodles into salad.
  • P.S. Don't put noodles or dressing until your ready to serve; they will become soggy if you pre mix them.

Tips:

  • To enhance the flavors in your slaw, let it chill for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the dressing to fully penetrate the cabbage and other vegetables.
  • For a creamier slaw, use mayonnaise or sour cream as the base of your dressing. Alternatively, you can use yogurt or buttermilk for a lighter, tangier option.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables to your slaw, such as shredded carrots, bell peppers, or broccoli. You can also add fruits like apples or pineapple for a sweet and tangy twist.
  • If you're making a slaw ahead of time, be sure to drain off any excess liquid before serving. This will prevent the slaw from becoming watery.
  • Slaw is a versatile dish that can be served as a side dish, a topping for tacos or sandwiches, or even as a main course. Get creative and find new ways to enjoy this classic dish!
