Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: The fresher the ingredients, the better the cookies will taste. This is especially true for the butter, eggs, and flour.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy: This will help to incorporate air into the cookies, making them light and airy.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing the dough will make the cookies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough will help to prevent the cookies from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Bake the cookies at the right temperature: The ideal temperature for baking Chinese Chews is 350 degrees Fahrenheit. If the oven is too hot, the cookies will brown too quickly and the centers will be undercooked. If the oven is too cool, the cookies will take too long to bake and will be dry.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before storing them: This will help to prevent the cookies from becoming soggy.

Conclusion:

Chinese Chews are a delicious and easy-to-make cookie that is perfect for any occasion. They are light, airy, and chewy, with a slightly crispy exterior. By following these tips, you can make the perfect Chinese Chews every time.
