It doesn't sound like much but I prefer this as an alternative to caramel corn, it is that good. I make it at Christmas time, pink and green and mix them together. Simple to make, sweet and crunchy. Colorful to boot! It goes fast. As far as I know this is an old recipe from long ago.

Tips:

  • Use Fresh Popcorn Kernels: Fresh popcorn kernels will pop better and result in fluffier popcorn.
  • Measure the Popcorn Kernels Accurately: Don't overcrowd the pot with too many kernels, as this will result in uneven popping. Use the correct amount of kernels for the size of your pot.
  • Use Coconut or Grapeseed Oil: Coconut or grapeseed oil are good choices for popping popcorn because they have a high smoke point and won't burn easily.
  • Shake the Pot Constantly: Keep the pot moving while the popcorn is popping to ensure even cooking and prevent burning.
  • Listen for the Popping to Slow Down: Once the popping slows down to a few seconds between pops, remove the pot from the heat to prevent burning.
  • Use a Large Pot: Choose a large pot with a lid to allow the popcorn to expand properly without overflowing.
  • Add Flavorings After Popping: Add melted butter, salt, or other flavorings after the popcorn has finished popping to evenly coat the kernels.

Conclusion:

Follow these tips and you'll be able to make delicious, fluffy popcorn at home that's sure to be a hit with your family and friends. You can experiment with different flavorings and toppings to create your own unique popcorn recipes. Enjoy your homemade popcorn and happy popping!
