Time 5m

Yield 2 cups

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
1 cup water
1 tablespoon italian seasoning
3/4 teaspoon granulated garlic
1 teaspoon ground paprika
1/4 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • 1. Place tomato paste in a small mixing bowl. Add water, using some of the water to rinse the last of the paste out of the cans. Stir well. (I whisk it with a fork.).
  • 2. Add seasonings and stir again. You will have a very thick pizza sauce; add more water if you like a thinner sauce.
  • 3. Refrigerate leftovers up to one week; freeze for up to a year.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, ripe tomatoes for the best flavor. Roma tomatoes are a good choice because they have fewer seeds and less water.
  • Roast the tomatoes before making the sauce. This will concentrate their flavor and make the sauce richer.
  • Add a variety of herbs and spices to the sauce to taste. Some good options include basil, oregano, thyme, garlic, and red pepper flakes.
  • Simmer the sauce for at least 30 minutes, or longer if you have time. This will allow the flavors to meld and develop.
  • Use a food processor or blender to puree the sauce until it is smooth. If you like a chunkier sauce, you can leave some of the tomatoes unblended.

Conclusion:

These easy low-carb pizza sauce and pasta sauce base recipes are a great way to enjoy your favorite Italian dishes without all the carbs. They are also a healthy and delicious alternative to store-bought sauces. With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can make a delicious, flavorful sauce that the whole family will love.
