Tips:

  • Choose ripe, juicy peaches: The quality of your peaches will greatly impact the flavor of your cobbler. Look for peaches that are fragrant and have a slight give when you press them gently.
  • Use a variety of peaches: If you can, use a mix of white and yellow peaches. This will give your cobbler a more complex flavor and texture.
  • Don't peel the peaches: The skins of peaches add flavor and texture to the cobbler. Just be sure to wash them well before using.
  • Use a combination of spices: A blend of spices, such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger, will enhance the flavor of the peaches.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the cobbler tough. Just mix until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the cobbler until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling: This will ensure that the cobbler is cooked through.
  • Serve the cobbler warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream: This is the perfect way to enjoy this classic Southern dessert.
