Steps:
- 1. Slice 1 cup of peaches, refrigerate for later use. Chop remaining peaches, set aside. Add boiling water to gelatin mix; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Add enough ice to cold water to make 1 cup. Add to gelatin, stir until slightly thickened. Remove any unmelted ice.
- 2. Whisk in cool whip. Stir in chopped peaches. Refrigerate 30 minutes or until mixture is very thick and will mound. Spoon into pie crust.
- 3. Refrigerate 6 hours or longer until firm. Top with remaining sliced peaches.
Tips:
- Use ripe peaches: The riper the peaches, the sweeter and more flavorful your pie will be.
- Peel the peaches: Peeling the peaches is optional, but it will give your pie a smoother texture.
- Add a little bit of sugar to the peaches: This will help to draw out the juices and prevent the peaches from becoming too dry.
- Use a deep-dish pie crust: This will help to prevent the pie from overflowing.
- Bake the pie until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling: This will ensure that the pie is cooked all the way through.
Conclusion:
Peach pie is a classic summer dessert that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser.
With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious peach pie that will be the star of your next potluck or picnic.
So next time you have a craving for something sweet, give this easy peach pie recipe a try.
