Time 10m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/3 cup olive oil, plus
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
3/4 teaspoon pepper
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon onion powder
3/4 teaspoon dijon-style mustard
1/2 cup red wine vinegar, plus
2 teaspoons red wine vinegar

Steps:

  • Mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, oregano, basil, pepper, salt, onion powder and mustard.
  • Pour in the vinegar, and mix vigorously until well blended.
  • Store tightly covered at room temperature (Does not need to be refrigerated).

Tips:

  • For a tangy and flavorful dressing, use freshly squeezed lime juice and apple cider vinegar. If you don't have fresh lime juice, you can use bottled lime juice, but be sure to dilute it with water to taste.
  • If you don't have avocado oil, you can use another type of light oil, such as olive oil or canola oil. However, avocado oil has a neutral flavor that won't overpower the other ingredients in the dressing.
  • If you're using fresh herbs, such as cilantro or basil, be sure to chop them finely before adding them to the dressing. Fresh herbs will add a pop of flavor and color to the dressing.
  • If you like a spicy dressing, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili powder. Be sure to taste the dressing before adding more spice, as it can easily become too spicy.
  • Esperanza dressing can be used on salads, tacos, burritos, and other Mexican-inspired dishes. It's also a great marinade for chicken, fish, and shrimp.

Conclusion:

Esperanza dressing is a versatile and flavorful dressing that can be used on a variety of dishes. It's easy to make and can be customized to your liking. Whether you like it tangy, spicy, or mild, Esperanza dressing is sure to please. So next time you're looking for a new dressing to try, be sure to give this one a try.
