Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 cup water
2 cups sugar
1 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup butter
2 cups peanuts
2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Bring water to a boil, add sugar and syrup. Cook to 260°F stirring constantly. Add butter and peanuts. Keep stirring and cook to 305°F. Remove from heat. Add baking soda and vanilla. Stir in thoroughly. Pour onto buttered cookie sheets. As it cools, stretch until very thin. Let cool until hard, then break into pieces.

Tips:

  • To make peanut brittle, you will need sugar, corn syrup, water, peanuts, butter, vanilla extract, and baking soda. You may also use a mixture of granulated sugar and brown sugar for a richer flavor.
  • Use a heavy-bottomed saucepan to prevent the sugar mixture from burning.
  • Cook the sugar mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it reaches the desired temperature. If the mixture is too hot, it will burn. If it is not hot enough, it will not harden.
  • Once the sugar mixture reaches the desired temperature, remove it from the heat and stir in the peanuts, butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the mixture onto a greased baking sheet and let it cool completely before breaking it into pieces.
  • If you want to make a thinner peanut brittle, spread the mixture out on the baking sheet more thinly. If you want to make a thicker peanut brittle, spread the mixture out on the baking sheet more thickly.

Conclusion:

Peanut brittle is a delicious and easy-to-make candy that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It is a popular treat at parties and holidays, and it can also be given as a gift. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make your own peanut brittle at home. So next time you are looking for a sweet treat, try making peanut brittle.
