3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup molasses
1/2 cup water, boiling
2 teaspoons baking soda

Steps:

  • Sift together the flour, salt, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. Set aside.
  • Cream the butter with the brown sugar, granulated sugar and egg. Beat in the molasses. Add the flour mixture.
  • Combine the boiling water with the baking soda and mix into the cookie batter to make a soft dough.
  • Roll out on a floured surface and cut into 3-inch rounds. Place on a well oiled or parchment paper lined baking sheet.

½ cup brown sugar
1 egg
¾ cup molasses
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger

Steps:

1-1/2 cups butter, softened
2 cups sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
1/2 cup molasses
4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons ground ginger
2 teaspoons baking soda
1-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup chopped pecans
3/4 cup coarse sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and molasses.
