Tips:
- Prep and Mise en Place: Before starting, measure and prep all ingredients. Having everything ready to go will make the cooking process smoother and more efficient.
- Tenderize the Chicken: Use a meat mallet to lightly pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness. This helps to tenderize the chicken and ensures it cooks evenly.
- Marinate the Chicken: Marinating the chicken in a mixture of soy sauce, rice wine, sesame oil, and cornstarch for at least 30 minutes adds flavor and helps to tenderize the chicken further.
- Use a Wok or Large Skillet: A wok or large skillet allows for even heat distribution and enough space to stir-fry the chicken and vegetables.
- High Heat: Stir-frying requires high heat to quickly cook the ingredients without overcooking them. Make sure your wok or skillet is hot before adding the oil and ingredients.
- Stir Constantly: Stir-frying involves constant stirring to ensure even cooking and prevent the ingredients from sticking to the pan.
- Cook in Batches: If you have a lot of chicken or vegetables, cook them in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan and ensure even cooking.
- Add Sauce Gradually: Add the sauce gradually while stirring to avoid clumping. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a little water or chicken broth.
- Serve Immediately: Stir-fried dishes are best served immediately after cooking to enjoy the vibrant flavors and textures.
