Tips:

  • Choose the right rice: Use a long-grain rice, such as basmati or jasmine, for the best results. These types of rice will stay fluffy and separate after cooking.
  • Cook the rice properly: Be sure to rinse the rice thoroughly before cooking to remove any starch. Then, cook the rice according to the package instructions. If you are using a rice cooker, follow the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the quality of your ingredients, the better your fried rice will taste. Use fresh vegetables, smoked ham, and eggs. You can also add other ingredients, such as shrimp, chicken, or tofu, if you like.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the fried rice, don't overcrowd the pan. This will prevent the rice from cooking evenly and will make it mushy. Cook the rice in batches if necessary.
  • Use a well-seasoned wok or skillet: A well-seasoned wok or skillet will help to prevent the rice from sticking. If you don't have a well-seasoned wok or skillet, you can use a non-stick pan.

Conclusion:

Fried rice with smoked ham is a delicious and versatile dish that can be made with a variety of ingredients. It's a great way to use up leftover rice, and it's also a quick and easy meal to make on a busy weeknight. With a little planning and preparation, you can make a delicious and healthy fried rice with smoked ham that the whole family will enjoy.
