1 ¼ cups white sugar
1 cup heavy cream
5 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 13x9-inch baking pan. Place 8 ounces of baking chocolate with 1 cup of butter in a microwave-safe bowl, and microwave on High until the chocolate is soft and the butter has melted, about 2 minutes. Stir to mix.

Categories     Bar Cookie

Time 45m

Yield 24-36 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

8 (1 ounce) bakers unsweetened chocolate squares
1 lb butter
1/4 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 tablespoons sugar
4 cups confectioners' sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
vanilla extract
milk

Steps:

  • Melt 1/2lb butter and 4 squares of chocolate over medium heat.
  • Add 2C sugar and stir until dissolved.
  • One at a time, beat in 4 eggs.
  • Add 2tsp of vanilla and 1 1/2C flour.
  • Bake in 13x19" pan (greased) at 325*F for 25-30min. Cool.
  • Frosting:.
  • Mix to a spreadable consistency: 4C confectioner's sugar, 1C butter (1/2lb), 2tsp vanilla extract and about 2tbsp of milk. Add food coloring if desired.
  • Top layer:.
  • Melt 4 squares chocolate, 4tbsp butter (1/2 stick), 4tbsp sugar together. Pour over brownies.
  • Refrigerate to harden chocolate.
  • Warm to room temp before cutting.

Tips:

  • Choose the right pan: Use a 9x13 inch baking pan for even baking and to prevent the brownies from becoming too thick or thin.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing can result in tough, dense brownies. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the brownies until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached: Overbaking will result in dry, crumbly brownies.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before frosting them: This will help the frosting set properly and prevent it from becoming runny.
  • Use a thick, creamy frosting: A thin frosting will not hold up well on the brownies and will be difficult to spread.
  • Decorate the brownies with your favorite toppings: Chopped nuts, sprinkles, or chocolate chips are all great options.

Conclusion:

Frosted Double Decker Brownies are a delicious and decadent dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With a fudgy brownie base, a creamy frosting, and a variety of toppings, these brownies are sure to be a hit with everyone. So next time you're looking for a special treat, give this recipe a try!
