Provided by Seasoned Cook

Categories     Fruit

Time 30m

Yield 12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 (3 ounce) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 (20 ounce) crushed pineapple, drained
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
1/2 cup red maraschino cherry
1/2 cup green maraschino cherry

  • Approximately 30 minutes before serving, remove from freezer, peel from paper cups and place on lettuce leaf.
  • Salad may be made up to two weeks ahead and kept in freezer bags.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe, fresh fruit: Overripe or bruised fruit will not freeze well and will result in a mushy texture.
  • Wash and dry the fruit thoroughly: This will help prevent the formation of ice crystals and freezer burn.
  • Cut the fruit into uniform pieces: This will ensure that the fruit freezes evenly.
  • Add sugar or honey to taste: This is optional, but it can help to enhance the flavor of the fruit.
  • Use airtight containers: This will help to prevent freezer burn and keep the fruit fresh.
  • Freeze the fruit cups for at least 2 hours before serving: This will give the fruit time to freeze solid.

Conclusion:

Frozen fruit cups are a delicious and healthy snack or dessert that can be enjoyed all year round. They are easy to make and can be customized to your own taste preferences. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a refreshing and nutritious treat that the whole family will love.
