FROZEN STRAWBERRY-COCONUT SMOOTHIE WITH POMEGRANATE MOLASSES
Fruity pomegranate molasses is the perfect sweetener for this thick strawberry smoothie. This summer I bought a flat of strawberries, and soon afterward realized that they were going to go off before I had a chance to use them. So I hulled them and froze them in small freezer bags (a heaping cup, or 6 ounces, per bag), and now I'm using them for smoothies. When I was working on this smoothie I felt that it needed something to sweeten it, but what? I looked in my cupboard and saw a bottle of pomegranate molasses, and voilà! Now I know that pomegranate molasses, with its fruity, tangy yet sweet flavor, is perfect for red fruit smoothies of all kinds. This one is enriched with cashews, soaked in water for a few hours or overnight, chia seeds (also soaked), and oatmeal.

Tips:
- Use frozen strawberries: Frozen strawberries are the key to a thick and creamy smoothie. Fresh strawberries will not give you the same consistency.
- Add yogurt or milk: Yogurt or milk will help to thicken your smoothie and make it more filling. You can use any type of yogurt or milk that you like, but Greek yogurt or almond milk are good options.
- Add a sweetener: If you like your smoothies sweet, you can add a sweetener such as honey, maple syrup, or agave nectar. You can also use a flavored yogurt or milk to add sweetness.
- Add a flavor boost: You can add a flavor boost to your smoothie by adding a variety of ingredients such as peanut butter, cocoa powder, or vanilla extract. You can also add a scoop of protein powder or greens powder for an extra nutritional boost.
- Blend until smooth: Blend your smoothie until it is smooth and creamy. If you have a high-powered blender, you can blend it for a shorter amount of time. If you have a less powerful blender, you may need to blend it for a longer amount of time.
Conclusion:
Frozen strawberry smoothies are a delicious and refreshing way to start your day or refuel after a workout. They are packed with nutrients and can be customized to your liking. With a few simple ingredients and a blender, you can make a delicious and healthy frozen strawberry smoothie in just a few minutes.
