GINGER CRANBERRY COCKTAIL (FROZEN VODKA OR GIN)
Steps:
- For the ginger syrup: Place all syrup ingredients in a saucepan and simmer until sugar dissolves and the ginger is infused in the syrup, about 20 minutes. Strain and allow to cool fully before use.
- For the drink: Crush the frozen cranberries in a large glass pitcher. Add the lime juice and their juiced wedges to the pitcher. Pour in the vodka, cranberry juice, and ginger syrup. Put ice in low-ball glasses and fill glasses about 2/3 full. Top off with club soda and garnish with a shaving of fresh ginger.

Steps:
- Place the vodka bottle into a fully opened half-gallon cardboard milk or juice carton.
- Insert flowers or thinly sliced fruit (we used holly, cranberry, lime slices, red roses, and white pine branches) around bottle, filling one-third of the carton.
- Pour water into container, just covering fruit and flowers.
- Place upright in the freezer.
- When completely frozen, add another layer of fruit and very cold water, and freeze.
- Repeat steps 2 through 5, filling and freezing a third time, so that fruit and flowers do not float to the top, until water reaches bottle neck.
- Remove from freezer just before serving; cut away milk carton with a utility knife.
FROZEN FESTIVE VODKA OR TEQUILA BOTTLES WITH HERBS AND BERRIES
Another GREAT Jamie Oliver recipe, and one that I am preparing for New Year's Eve! Jamie says you can use any spirits or liquor, but he suggestes vodka and tequila in his recipe. These bottles look SO festive and pretty, I plan to use holly, berries, bay leaves, fruit slices, ivy and woody herbs for my bottles this year. DO check that the liquor bottle fits INSIDE the plastic water bottle first! This recipe idea for serving liquor originates from Scandinavia. (Prep time is for freezing the bottles.)

Steps:
- Cut the top off a 1 litre plastic bottle, pop a 700ml bottle of vodka, tequila or whatever you fancy in there. Fill inside the plastic bottle with water then shove leaves, sprigs of herbs, holly branches and berries, and sliced fruits all around the side. Stand this carefully in the freezer and leave it for a few hours so everything freezes around the bottle.
- When you're ready to serve it, simply run the sleeve quickly under a tap then slide it off. You'll have a perfect ice wrap around the bottle to keep it cold for the night - and look gorgeous!
FROZEN VODKA SLUSH
This is so yummy.... I love frozen drinks. Use whatever pop is your favorite ( I use diet to cut down on the sweetness) I also put the juice & zest of a lemon, lime & orange if you have it.... Just brightens up the flavor. Also the maraschino cherries are optional, my mother in law makes brandy slushes and puts them in hers...
