Steps:
- In a large bowl, combine fruits, marshmallows and pecans.
- Fold in the Cool Whip topping and the mayonnaise into the fruit; toss lightly to combine well.
- Transfer the mixture to a 8x8-inch dish.
- Chill in the freezer for about 1 hour (NOT until solid).
- Cut into squares.
- *note* make sure that the canned fruit is VERY well drained, I like to pat off any excess moisture with a paper towel.
- Also, if you plan to double this recipe, prepare in TWO separate pans.
Tips:
- Use fresh fruit for the best flavor and texture. If using frozen fruit, thaw it completely before using.
- If you don't have any marshmallows on hand, you can use 1 cup of heavy cream, whipped, instead.
- For a more decadent dessert, use chocolate chips or mini chocolate chips instead of regular marshmallows.
- Serve the dessert immediately, or chill it for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Conclusion:
This fruited marshmallow dessert is a light and refreshing treat that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make and can be customized to your liking. So next time you're looking for a sweet and simple dessert, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
