HERB-GARLIC VEGGIE BAGEL SANDWICH

Herb-Garlic Veggie Bagel Sandwich image

Variation on the Leonardo Da Veggie from Bruegger's Bagels! I lived off these in college and don't live near a Bruegger's now, so I created my version!

Provided by Selena Parisher @sjparisher

Categories     Vegetable Appetizers

Number Of Ingredients 7

- everything bagels, 1 per serving
- herb garlic cream cheese (see my delicious recipe!)
- roasted red peppers
- muenster cheese
- alfalfa sprouts
- red onion
- tomato

Steps:

  • First, make my herb garlic cream cheese spread found in my recipe box. If you want to buy some, it's hard to find in grocery stores but bagel shops will probably carry it.
  • dice some tomatoes, chop some onions and red peppers. I usually mix all these in a food processor. The amount you use depends on your preference and how many sandwiches you are making.
  • Lightly toast an everything bagel.
  • Spread cream cheese on one half.
  • Put mixture of red pepper/onion/tomatoes on top of cream cheese.
  • Put slice of muenster cheese on top.
  • Top with alfalfa sprouts.
  • Put the top of the bagel on, slice in half and enjoy! I like to microwave my finished sandwich a little to soften up the cheese, but some prefer this sandwich cold.

Tips:

  • Use fresh herbs: Fresh herbs provide the best flavor for this spread. If you don't have fresh herbs on hand, you can use dried herbs, but use half the amount called for in the recipe.
  • Don't overmix the spread: Overmixing the spread will make it tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
  • Let the spread chill before serving: Chilling the spread allows the flavors to meld and develop. It also makes the spread easier to spread.
  • Serve the spread with your favorite bagel or bread: This spread is great on bagels, toast, or crackers. You can also use it as a dip for vegetables or fruit.

Conclusion:

This garlic herb bagel spread is a quick and easy recipe that is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a snack. It is also a great way to use up fresh herbs. The spread is flavorful, creamy, and versatile. It is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
