SPICY GARLIC GREEN BEANS

This is a great dish we have at a local chinese restaurant that I came home and played with. They're an excellent side dish. I store some thai peppers in oil that I use in place of the olive oil but regular olive oil is fine. This recipe is great if you cube up a chicken breast into 1/2" cubes and add it also.

GREEN BEANS WITH SESAME & GARLIC

Green Beans with Sesame & Garlic image

These are green beans with attitude. I think I got the recipe from Vegetarian Times, and it's never missed yet when served alongside a nice piece of fish or tuna steak. I like to cook the beans early in the day so I can throw it together in a snap at mealtime. I also use more garlic.

Tips:

  • Prep your green beans: Trim the ends of the green beans and cut them into 2-3 inch pieces. You can also leave them whole if you prefer.
  • Use fresh garlic and ginger: Fresh garlic and ginger add a lot of flavor to this dish, so be sure to use them if you have them on hand. If you don't have fresh garlic or ginger, you can use 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder and 1/2 teaspoon of ginger powder instead.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When you're cooking the green beans, don't overcrowd the pan. This will prevent them from cooking evenly. Cook them in batches if necessary.
  • Stir-fry the green beans until they're tender: Stir-fry the green beans for 5-7 minutes, or until they're tender but still slightly crunchy. You don't want to overcook them, or they'll become mushy.
  • Add the sauce: Once the green beans are cooked, add the sauce and stir to coat. Cook for an additional minute or two, or until the sauce has thickened.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds: Before serving, garnish the green beans with sesame seeds. This adds a nice nutty flavor and makes the dish look more appealing.

Conclusion:

This garlicky, spicy, and sesamey green bean recipe is a quick and easy way to get your daily dose of vegetables. It's also a great side dish for any Asian-inspired meal. The green beans are cooked to perfection, and the sauce is flavorful and addictive. This dish is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
