Time 1h15m

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 (18.25 oz) german chocolate cake mix
1 (15 oz) can coconut pecan icing
4 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1 cup water

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350*. Grease and flour a 12 cup tube pan or bundt pan. Mix all ingredients (including the icing) in mixer at medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour into prepared pan and bake 55-60 minutes. Remove from oven to wire rack and allow to cool 10 minutes. Invert onto serving plate and dust with powdered sugar.
  • 2. This makes a large cake so be sure to use the large 12 cup pan. Very moist and delicious.

Tips:

  • Accurate Measurements: Use a kitchen scale for accurate measurements of ingredients, especially for baking. This ensures precise proportions and a consistent outcome.
  • Room Temperature Ingredients: Bring ingredients like butter, eggs, and milk to room temperature before mixing. This helps them combine smoothly and evenly, resulting in a well-balanced batter or dough.
  • Creaming Butter and Sugar: Creaming butter and sugar together until light and fluffy incorporates air into the mixture, creating a smooth and creamy texture in the final baked good.
  • Folding Dry Ingredients: When adding dry ingredients to the wet mixture, use a spatula and gently fold them in until just combined. Overmixing can result in a dense and tough texture.
  • Proper Baking Temperature: Preheat your oven to the desired temperature before baking. This ensures that the baked good cooks evenly and prevents under or over-baking.
  • Checking for Doneness: Use a toothpick or cake tester inserted into the center of the baked good. It should come out clean or with just a few moist crumbs attached, indicating that it's done.
  • Cooling and Storage: Allow baked goods to cool completely before frosting or storing. Store them in airtight containers at room temperature or in the refrigerator, depending on the recipe's instructions.
