CRANBERRY SWIRL LOAF
My mother's made this bread for years, but she uses date filling. I loved her bread so much that I made my own, with cranberries for a slightly tart filling with the sweet streusel topping-sometimes I add a simple icing. Each slice reveals an enticing ruby swirl. -Darlene Brenden, Salem, Oregon

Tips:
- Prep Your Ingredients: Before you start baking, measure and prep all your ingredients to ensure a smooth baking process.
- Use Fresh Cranberries: Fresh cranberries provide the best flavor and texture to the loaf. If using frozen cranberries, thaw them completely before using.
- Zest the Orange: Freshly zested orange adds a bright citrus flavor to the loaf. Make sure to use unwaxed oranges for the best results.
- Don't Overmix the Batter: Overmixing the batter can result in a tough, dense loaf. Mix just until the ingredients are well combined.
- Swirl the Cranberry Mixture: Once the batter is ready, spoon the cranberry mixture over the batter and gently swirl it in using a knife or spoon. This will create a beautiful marbled effect.
- Bake Until a Toothpick Inserted Comes Out Clean: To ensure the loaf is fully baked, insert a toothpick into the center. It should come out clean with just a few moist crumbs attached.
- Let the Loaf Cool: Allow the loaf to cool completely before slicing and serving. This will help the loaf hold its shape and prevent it from crumbling.
Conclusion:
The Glazed Cranberry Swirl Loaf is a delightful treat that combines the tangy sweetness of cranberries with a moist and flavorful bread. It's perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as an afternoon snack. With its festive appearance and delicious taste, this loaf is sure to be a hit with family and friends. So gather your ingredients, preheat your oven, and let's get baking!
