Apple Gorgonzola Salad With Balsamic Vinaigrette image

My take on the apple gorgonzola salad at Buca di Beppo. I have also made the dressing using Apple Cider Vinegar in place of the Balsamic with excellent results. It is a family and friend favorite!

APPLE GORGONZOLA SALAD

Apple Gorgonzola Salad image

This is a delicious salad that is simple and elegant. It is different from the others I've seen as it has a lower sugar content, so it doesn't take away from the goodness of the salad itself.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of apple varieties for a more complex flavor.
  • Don't peel the apples, as the skin adds color and texture to the dish.
  • Be careful not to overcook the apples, as they should still have a slight crunch.
  • Serve the apples warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
  • If you don't have balsamic vinegar, you can use a mixture of red wine vinegar and honey.
  • The apples can be baked in a muffin tin or a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • To make the balsamic syrup ahead of time, simply simmer the balsamic vinegar and sugar in a saucepan until the sugar has dissolved. Then, let the syrup cool completely and store it in a jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

Gorgonzola baked apples with balsamic syrup is a delicious and elegant dessert that is perfect for any occasion. The apples are tender and flavorful, the gorgonzola cheese adds a rich and creamy flavor, and the balsamic syrup is the perfect finishing touch. This dish is sure to impress your guests!
