Tips:

  • Use Granny Smith apples. They hold their shape well when baked and have a tart flavor that pairs perfectly with the sweetness of the pie filling.
  • Peel and core the apples before slicing them. This will help to prevent the pie filling from becoming too mushy.
  • Add a little bit of lemon juice to the apple filling. This will help to prevent the apples from browning.
  • Use a combination of white sugar and brown sugar in the pie filling. The white sugar will add sweetness, while the brown sugar will add depth of flavor.
  • Don't overfill the pie crust. Otherwise, the filling will bubble over and make a mess.
  • Bake the pie at a high temperature for the first 15 minutes. This will help to create a golden brown crust.
  • Reduce the temperature after 15 minutes and continue baking until the filling is bubbling and the crust is golden brown.

Conclusion:

Grandma's Apple Pie Ala Mode Moonshine is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. The combination of tart apples, sweet pie filling, and creamy moonshine ice cream is simply irresistible. So next time you're looking for a special treat, give this recipe a try.
