Tips:

  • Use good quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better the granola will taste. Look for organic oats, nuts, and seeds, and use pure maple syrup and extra virgin olive oil.
  • Toast the oats: Toasting the oats gives them a nutty flavor and makes them more crunchy. Spread the oats in a thin layer on a baking sheet and toast them in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  • Choose your nuts and seeds: You can use any combination of nuts and seeds that you like. Some popular choices include almonds, walnuts, pecans, sunflower seeds, and chia seeds.
  • Add dried fruit: Dried fruit adds a natural sweetness and chewiness to granola. Some popular choices include raisins, cranberries, cherries, and apricots.
  • Use a variety of spices: Spices can add a lot of flavor to granola. Some popular choices include cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cardamom.
  • Don't overcook the granola: Overcooked granola will be hard and crunchy. Cook the granola for just until it is golden brown and crispy.
