GREEK-STYLE CHICKEN BURGERS
The original recipe for these burgers called for lamb or beef, but I decided to try ground chicken to decrease the fat. The sauce easily doubles as a flavorful dip for veggies and pita chips. -Judy Puskas, Wallaceburg, Ontario

GREEK-STYLE FETA AND OLIVE SPREAD (FOR BURGERS, STEAKS AND FISH)
This spread is so good on grilled steaks, pork and turkey burgers, I use it all the time topped on my salmon patties (recipe #155183) in between a bun. You can use it on just about anything! All the ingredients should be adjusted to taste. Plan ahead this needs to chill for a minimum of 5 hours, overnight is even better, this get stronger with chilling time, so be careful with the fresh garlic, it can be too overpowering in this spread if you make the mistake of adding in to much while making it... start with adding in a small amount and chill for about 3 hours if you feel that you want more garlic flavor then mix in more. You can add in salt, but the feta and olives are very salty.

Steps:
- 1. Mix all of the ingredients except the feta in a mixing bowl until well combined.
- 2. Divide the meat into 8 chunks. Roll 1 chunk into a ball and then press it out into the shape of a patty in the palm of your hand.
- 3. Press the feta on top of the meat patty. Take another chunk and form a patty with it as well, and then press on top of the feta covered one. Repeat with the rest of the meat.
- 4. Fry on medium heat for about ten minutes, until well browned. Flip over and fry for another ten minutes or so. Make sure that the meat is well cooked. If you cook it on too high of a heat it might burn on the outside but might not be done on the inside.
- 5. When the weather is right we grill these Greek Burgers outside on the grill, either way they are delicious.
Tips:
- Use fresh, high-quality ingredients. This will make a big difference in the taste of your burgers.
- Don't overmix the meat. Overmixing can make the burgers tough.
- Form the burgers into patties that are about 3/4-inch thick. This will help them cook evenly.
- Season the burgers liberally with salt and pepper. You can also add other seasonings, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or oregano.
- Cook the burgers over medium-high heat. This will help them develop a nice crust.
- Flip the burgers only once. Flipping them too often can make them dry.
- Cook the burgers to an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit. This will ensure that they are cooked through.
- Let the burgers rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help them retain their juices.
Conclusion:
Greek-style burgers are a delicious and easy-to-make meal. By following these tips, you can make sure that your burgers are juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give Greek-style burgers a try!
