GRILLED HAVARTI SANDWICH WITH SPICED APPLES
Posting for ZWT6. A variation from thenibble.com And after making myself I DID reduce the butter as Kim127 suggested. And after looking at momaphet's review and the original recipe I did reduce the sugar amount. Thank you both. Also think the caramelized onion is a wonderful suggestion.

MY GRILLED HAVARTI CHEESE & SPICED APPLE SANDWICH
Went into the kitchen yesterday and noticed these two apples setting on the counter. Well got the idea to make a sandwich with what ever cheese I had in the refrigerator and came up with this. Had a package of Havarti cheese and another hard cheese in the crisper so I pulled out the Havarti. As I was making them our neitghbor came to visit and I made her one also. Well, needless to say we all went a little nuts over this sandwich. My neighbor wrote down what I had done with the apples. We will be making these again very soon. I'm thinking this could also be a great dissert dish also. MMMMMM?

GRILLED HAVARTI & MUSHROOMS
There's nothing like the first bite of this sandwich. A crisp buttery exterior gives way to creamy dilled cheese and fresh mushrooms. My friend said she never liked grilled cheese until she tried mine! -Judith Politzer, Burton, Ohio

GRILLED APPLE AND SWISS CHEESE SANDWICH
My mother taught me this recipe, and it has become one of my favorite quick meals. I find that Granny Smith apples work best, as well as a crunchy seed bread.

Tips:
- Choose a good quality bread: A sturdy bread like sourdough or a hearty whole-grain bread will hold up well to the fillings and won't get soggy.
- Don't be afraid to experiment with different cheeses: Havarti is a great choice, but you could also try Gruyère, cheddar, or even a goat cheese.
- Make sure the apples are thinly sliced: This will help them cook evenly and caramelize nicely.
- Don't overcrowd the pan: If you're cooking multiple sandwiches, make sure there's enough space between them so they can cook evenly.
- Cook the sandwiches over medium heat: This will help prevent the bread from burning and allow the cheese to melt slowly and evenly.
- Serve the sandwiches immediately: Grilled Havarti sandwiches are best enjoyed hot and fresh out of the pan.
Conclusion:
Grilled Havarti sandwiches are a quick and easy lunch that's perfect for busy weeknights. They're also a great way to use up leftover chicken or turkey. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious and satisfying sandwich that the whole family will enjoy. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy lunch or dinner idea, give grilled Havarti sandwiches a try.
