Tips:

  • For a flakier crust, use cold butter and grate it into the flour mixture.
  • If the dough is too dry, add a little bit of ice water until it comes together.
  • Be careful not to overwork the dough, as this will make it tough.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling it out.
  • When rolling out the dough, use a light touch and work quickly to prevent the butter from melting.
  • If the dough sticks to the rolling pin, lightly flour the surface.
  • To make the broccoli braid, cut the broccoli into small florets and steam or blanch them until tender.
  • Season the broccoli with salt and pepper, and then mix it with the cheese and ham.
  • Divide the dough into two equal pieces and roll each piece out into a long rectangle.
  • Spread the broccoli mixture down the center of each rectangle of dough.
  • Fold the sides of the dough over the broccoli mixture and pinch the edges to seal.
  • Place the braids on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush the tops of the braids with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
