Tips:

  • Use day-old bread for a sturdier strata. Fresh bread will absorb too much of the egg mixture and become soggy.
  • You can use any type of bread you like, but a hearty bread like sourdough or French bread will hold up best.
  • Be generous with the cheese. The more cheese you use, the richer and more flavorful the strata will be.
  • Use fresh spinach for the best flavor. If you're using frozen spinach, be sure to thaw it and squeeze out all of the excess water before using.
  • Don't overmix the egg mixture. Overmixing will make the strata tough.
  • Bake the strata until it is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the strata cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This will help it to hold its shape.

Conclusion:

Ham, Spinach, and Cheese Strata is a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast casserole that is perfect for a brunch or holiday meal. It is also a great way to use up leftover ham. With its simple ingredients and customizable variations, this dish is sure to become a family favorite.
