EASY GLAZED PORK CHOPS RECIPE BY TASTY

Easy Glazed Pork Chops Recipe by Tasty image

Here's what you need: thick-cut pork chops, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, black pepper, salt, brown sugar, olive oil

Provided by Tasty

Categories     Dinner

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 thick-cut pork chops
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons brown sugar
olive oil, for frying

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine your spices (paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt).
  • Rub the pork chops in the spices generously.
  • Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium/high heat. When the oil is hot, add the pork chops. Cook for about 3-5 minutes on each side or until they have a nice caramelized brownness to them. Once you feel that they are looking browned, add a Tablespoon of brown sugar to each pork chop. Turn each pork chop over, so both sides get some melted brown sugar. (Don't add the brown sugar too early or else the sugar will burn and smoke up the room.)
  • Bake at 350˚F (175˚C) for 15 minutes, making sure the pork chops are cooked through.
  • Before serving, pour the glaze that's formed in the pan over the chops. Serve with your vegetables of choice.
  • Enjoy!

TASTY BAKED CHOPS (AND EASY TOO!)

Tasty Baked Chops (And Easy Too!) image

These pork chops are tender, juicy and mildly flavored. Don't worry, the bbq sauce adds a minimal bbq taste, and if you'd like a stronger bbq flavor use more sauce! My husband normally doesn't like pork chops, but this is the only recipe in which he will eat and enjoy them. If you refrigerate the chops an hour or two before baking, the coating will end up a bit more crispy on top. But, if you are pressed for time like me, just spray the tops with cooking spray and broil until crispy after they have baked.

HASTY PUDDING

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of pork chops. Pork chops come from different parts of the pig, and some cuts are more tender and flavorful than others. For chops that are juicy and flavorful, look for chops that are at least 1 inch thick and have a good amount of marbling.
  • Season the chops well. Pork chops can be seasoned with a variety of herbs and spices. Some popular options include salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cumin. You can also use a store-bought pork chop seasoning blend.
  • Cook the chops over medium heat. Cooking the chops over medium heat will help to prevent them from drying out. If you cook the chops over high heat, they will brown too quickly on the outside and be undercooked on the inside.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chops are cooked to the desired doneness. The USDA recommends cooking pork chops to an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit. However, some people prefer to cook their chops to a slightly higher temperature, such as 155 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the chops rest before serving. Allowing the chops to rest for a few minutes before serving will help them to retain their juices and become more tender.

Conclusion:

Pork chops are a versatile and delicious cut of meat that can be cooked in a variety of ways. Whether you are grilling, pan-frying, or baking them, there is a pork chop recipe out there for everyone. By following these tips, you can ensure that your pork chops are juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.
