Rhodes™ Bread Dough or Rhodes Texas™ Rolls, thawed but still cold
favorite sandwich fillings.

Steps:

  • Cut one loaf into 4 equal pieces and roll each piece into a 6-8-inch bun. If using Texas rolls, combine two to make your 6-8-inch bun. Place on a sprayed baking sheet. Cover with sprayed plastic wrap and let rise until double in size. Remove wrap and bake at 350°F 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better the hoagie buns will be. Look for fresh, high-quality flour, yeast, water, and salt.
  • Proof the yeast: Proofing the yeast ensures that it is active and will help the hoagie buns rise properly. To proof the yeast, dissolve it in warm water with a little sugar and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it is foamy.
  • Knead the dough properly: Kneading the dough is an important step that helps to develop the gluten in the flour. This will make the hoagie buns chewy and elastic.
  • Let the dough rise twice: The first rise allows the dough to double in size. The second rise allows the dough to proof and become light and airy.
  • Bake the hoagie buns at a high temperature: Baking the hoagie buns at a high temperature will help them to brown and develop a crispy crust.

Conclusion:

Hoagie buns are a delicious and versatile bread that can be used for a variety of sandwiches and burgers. With a little planning and effort, you can easily make your own hoagie buns at home. Just be sure to follow the tips above and you'll be sure to end up with delicious, fresh hoagie buns that everyone will love.
