Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of beef: Flank steak, top round, and eye of round are all good choices for beef jerky. These cuts are lean and have a good amount of marbling, which will help to keep the jerky moist and flavorful.
  • Slice the beef against the grain: This will help to make the jerky more tender and easier to chew.
  • Marinate the beef for at least 12 hours: This will help to tenderize the beef and infuse it with flavor. You can use a variety of marinades, but some popular options include soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion, and black pepper.
  • Dehydrate the beef at a low temperature: This will help to prevent the jerky from becoming tough and chewy. The ideal temperature for dehydrating beef jerky is between 145°F and 165°F.
  • Store the beef jerky in an airtight container: This will help to keep the jerky fresh and prevent it from becoming moldy. Beef jerky can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or in the freezer for up to 6 months.

Beef jerky is a delicious and nutritious snack that is perfect for on-the-go. It is a good source of protein, iron, and zinc, and it is also low in fat and calories.
