SWEET POTATO FRIES WITH AUNT TC'S SECRET SAUCES

Sweet Potato Fries with Aunt TC's Secret Sauces image

What's my secret for super-crispy sweet potato fries? I actually have two. First, I soak the potatoes in cold water to remove the excess starch. Then, I give them a toss in a cornstarch and seltzer water mixture. The cherry on top? I dust these with a spicy-sweet spice blend and serve them with two different awesome sauces. Bet you can't eat just one!

2 teaspoons sweet paprika
2 teaspoons kosher salt
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper

Remove to lined wire racks to drain.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe, flavorful peaches: The quality of your peaches will greatly impact the taste of your ketchup. Look for peaches that are fragrant, have a deep orange color, and give slightly when pressed.
  • Use a variety of spices: This recipe calls for a blend of spices including cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and nutmeg. Feel free to adjust the spices to your liking or add others such as ginger, cardamom, or star anise.
  • Don't overcook the ketchup: Overcooking the ketchup can cause it to lose its fresh flavor and become too thick. Simmer the ketchup for just long enough to allow the flavors to meld, about 30 minutes.
  • Make use of your air fryer: Air fryers are a great way to make crispy sweet potato fries. They're healthier than traditional deep-fried fries and just as delicious.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce: Peach ketchup is a delicious dipping sauce for sweet potato fries, but you can also serve it with other fried foods such as chicken tenders, onion rings, or mozzarella sticks.

Conclusion:

This homemade peach ketchup with sweet potato fries is a unique and flavorful dish that is perfect for summer gatherings. The ketchup is made with fresh peaches, a variety of spices, and a touch of vinegar. It has a sweet and tangy flavor that pairs perfectly with the crispy sweet potato fries. This dish is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
