HOMEMADE TVP CRUMBLES
I love this recipe because now I can make and freeze these crumbles and never have to read the labels again to see if there is something in it that I can't eat. It is flexible and can be spiced for any type of dish that you would make using a hamburger substitute. Egg could be added to make patties. Sprinkled on salad is wonderful. Enjoy!

Steps:

- Fry mixture in oil in an uncovered frying pan on medium heat, about 5 minutes (or until browned), stirring occasionally.
Tips:
- To make sure your TVP crumbles have the best texture, use a food processor to achieve a ground meat-like consistency.
- Use vegetable broth instead of water for added flavor in the TVP crumbles.
- Add a splash of soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce to the TVP crumbles for a savory umami flavor.
- For a smoky flavor, add a teaspoon of smoked paprika to the TVP crumbles.
- If you want a crispy texture, pan-fry the TVP crumbles until they're golden brown.
