Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 2

1 fresh pineapple, peeled and sliced
1/4 c honey

Steps:

  • 1. Pare off the outside of the pineapple and cut into slices. You don't really need to core it- just don't eat the center.
  • 2. Brush a grill grate with oil, then grill pineapple slices a couple minutes on each side, just enough to warm and char lightly, brushing with a little honey.
  • 3. Drizzle with a little more honey before serving if you like.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe pineapples: Select pineapples that are heavy for their size, have a golden yellow color, and give a slightly springy feel when pressed gently. Avoid pineapples with bruises or blemishes.
  • Prepare the pineapple properly: Cut off the top and bottom of the pineapple, then slice it lengthwise into quarters. Remove the core from each quarter and slice the pineapple into 1-inch thick slices.
  • Marinate the pineapple: Combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and pineapple juice in a bowl. Place the pineapple slices in the marinade and let them soak for at least 30 minutes.
  • Grill the pineapple: Preheat your grill to medium heat. Place the pineapple slices on the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until they are slightly charred and caramelized.
  • Serve the pineapple: You can serve the grilled pineapple as is, or you can top it with your favorite toppings, such as ice cream, whipped cream, or fresh mint.

Conclusion:

Honey grilled pineapple is a delicious and refreshing treat that can be enjoyed on its own or as part of a larger meal. It is a great way to use up leftover pineapple, and it is also a healthy and nutritious snack. Whether you are looking for a quick and easy dessert or a fun and festive appetizer, honey grilled pineapple is a surefire crowd-pleaser.
