FRENCH TOAST BAKED IN HONEY-PECAN SAUCE

French Toast Baked in Honey-Pecan Sauce image

This comes from "The New Intercourses: An Aphrodisiac Cookbook" and I'll say nothing more about that. This is really, really good. You'll get out of it what you put into it, meaning....real vanilla extract, real butter and real maple syrup. This needs to set overnight and that's not included in the prep time.

Tips:

  • Use unsalted pecans. Salted pecans can make the sauce too salty, so it's best to use unsalted pecans and add salt to taste.
  • Toast the pecans before using them. Toasting the pecans will bring out their flavor and make them more fragrant. You can toast the pecans in a skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, or you can spread them on a baking sheet and bake them at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes.
  • Use a good quality honey. The honey you use will have a big impact on the flavor of the sauce, so it's important to use a good quality honey. Look for a honey that is dark and amber-colored, and that has a strong, floral flavor.
  • Don't let the sauce boil. If you let the sauce boil, it will become thick and syrupy. You want the sauce to be smooth and creamy, so don't let it boil. Just simmer it gently over low heat.
  • Taste the sauce before serving. The sauce should be sweet and savory, with a hint of smokiness from the toasted pecans. If the sauce is too sweet, you can add a little lemon juice or vinegar to balance out the flavors. If the sauce is too salty, you can add a little more honey.

Conclusion:

Honey pecan sauce is a delicious and versatile sauce that can be used on a variety of dishes. It's perfect for chicken, pork, fish, and vegetables. It can also be used as a glaze for ham or turkey. No matter how you use it, honey pecan sauce is sure to be a hit.
