ITALIAN MIXED SUB (HOT OR COLD)

Italian Mixed Sub (hot or cold) image

I used to run a small italian restaurant and this was our most popular sub. Some like it served as a cold sub, and others prefer it baked until the cheese melts and the roll is toasty. Either way, it's delicious.

  • Don't skimp on the meat: A hot Italian ham sub is all about the meat, so don't be shy about adding plenty of it. Aim for about 1/2 pound of ham per sub.
  • Use a variety of toppings: The best hot Italian ham subs have a variety of toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, onion, peppers, and pickles. Feel free to add other toppings that you enjoy, such as avocado, sprouts, or mushrooms.
  • Dress it up with a flavorful sauce: A flavorful sauce can really take your hot Italian ham sub to the next level. Try using a classic Italian dressing, a tangy vinaigrette, or a creamy ranch dressing.
  • Toast the bread: Toasting the bread adds a nice crispy texture to the sub and helps to prevent it from getting soggy. You can toast the bread in a toaster oven or on a grill.
