Time 20m

Yield 3 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 large eggs
2 oscar mayer all beef hot dogs, chopped into 1/4 inch pieces
1 cup salsa
1 small onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
monterey jack pepper cheese

Steps:

  • Start by sweating the onion and garlic in a small skillet.
  • When they are translucent add in the salsa and hotdogs.
  • Crack the eggs over the top, letting them cook through.
  • place slices of cheese on top and cover until cheese melts.
  • Flip it all onto a plate and enjoy!

Tips:

  • When hard-boiling the eggs, place them in a single layer in a saucepan and cover them with cold water. Bring the water to a boil, then cover the pan and remove it from the heat. Let the eggs stand in the hot water for 10-12 minutes, depending on how hard you want them to be. Immediately transfer the eggs to an ice bath to stop the cooking process.
  • To make the filling, use a food processor or blender to finely chop the egg yolks, mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper. You can also add other ingredients to the filling, such as chopped pickles, celery, or onion.
  • To assemble the deviled eggs, use a piping bag or a spoon to fill the egg white halves with the filling. You can also garnish the eggs with paprika, chopped chives, or bacon bits.
  • Deviled eggs can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. However, it is best to serve them within 24 hours of making them.

Conclusion:

Deviled eggs are a classic party appetizer that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. They are also a great way to use up leftover hard-boiled eggs. With endless variations on the filling, you can customize deviled eggs to your taste. So next time you are looking for a simple and delicious appetizer, give deviled eggs a try.
