Steps:
- In a large skillet, combine beef, water, mustard, and sugar. Simmer over medium heat until the beef is cooked through, about 5 minutes, breaking up clumps of meat with a spoon.
- Drain the fat if desired (I don't, and it is closer to the original recipe if you don't, but you can if you want). Stir in onion and season to taste with salt and pepper (I like 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper).
- Serve meat on buns with toppings on the side such as ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and pickles.

IOWA MAID-RITES ( LOOSE MEAT SANDWICHES )
This was a big winner in our work pot lucks,I was requested to bring it all the time and its easy easy to throw in a crock pot also. It may not be an Authentic Maidrite...but everyone who has tried them seem to agree they are pretty darn good.

Steps:
- After frying hamburger and draining it, mix in all the soup mixes and simmer to blend flavors, about an hour would do.
- Ladle on top of hamburger buns and treat them like you would a sloppy joe.
- Any left over meat is great for taco and burrito filler.
IOWA MAID-RITES
I came up with my own version of Iowa MaidRites which also are called 'loose meat' sandwiches. Very versatile, leftover beef can be used for spaghetti or taco filling, or it can be frozen for later use.

Tips:
- To make the perfect loose meat sandwich, start with high-quality ground beef. This will ensure that the sandwich is juicy and flavorful.
- Use a meat grinder to grind the beef yourself. This will give you a more consistent texture than pre-ground beef.
- Season the beef liberally with salt and pepper. This will help to enhance the flavor of the meat.
- Cook the beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Break up the beef into small pieces as it cooks. This will help to create the signature loose texture of the sandwich.
- Once the beef is cooked through, drain off any excess grease. Then, add the cooked beef to a slow cooker or Crock-Pot. This will help to keep the beef warm and moist.
- To assemble the sandwiches, simply place a scoop of the loose meat mixture on a bun. Top with your favorite toppings, such as cheese, pickles, onions, and mustard.
Conclusion:
The Maid-Rite loose meat sandwich is a delicious and iconic sandwich that is easy to make at home. With its simple ingredients and classic flavor, this sandwich is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
