Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Once the water is boiling, stir in the macaroni, and return to a boil. Cook the pasta uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is cooked through but still slightly firm, about 8 minutes. Drain well.
- Melt 1/4 cup butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. When the butter starts to foam and bubble, stir in the flour; cook on medium heat until flour just begins to turn pale yellow, 3 to 4 minutes. Add thyme, cayenne pepper, and white pepper; cook and stir another minute, then whisk in 1 cup of milk until smooth. Pour in remaining milk and whisk again. Bring the sauce just to a simmer.
- Stir in nutmeg, Worcestershire sauce, and salt; simmer on medium-low heat until thickened, about 8 minutes, whisking often. Turn heat off, then add 2 1/4 cups of Cheddar cheese; stir until melted and combined. Add Dijon mustard.
- Transfer the macaroni into a casserole dish, then pour in the cheese sauce; stir to thoroughly combine sauce with pasta. Mix panko bread crumbs and 1 tablespoon melted butter in a small bowl, and sprinkle crumbs on top of macaroni and cheese. Sprinkle remaining 3/4 cup of Cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven until bread crumbs and Cheddar cheese topping are golden brown, about 20 minutes.

MACARONI AND CHEESE AKA JAX MAX MAC AND CHEESE RECIPE
I can make all sorts of new fangled, over-the-top and invented dishes I want for turkey day, but I know my family and friends would turn on me if I didn't make macaroni and cheese. It's on the menu every year. It's rich because it has a lot of CHEESE in it and BUTTER and that's what makes it DELICIOUS! This is recipe for a crowd or just a few Mac 'n' Cheese enthusiasts. You know your people. Be sure to make enough. It also freezes beautifully.

Steps:
- Preheat to 350°. Have pasta ready in a large bowl. Prepare the baking pans by greasing thoroughly with butter. Prepare the béchamel by melting the butter in a medium sauce pan, then adding the flour, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon. It will make a paste and keep stirring and cooking it for about two minutes. Do not brown it or burn it. Stir in the warm milk and continue to stir until the sauce thickens and comes to a boil. Add nutmeg, salt and pepper and continue to cook for another few minutes to let the sauce thicken a little and cook off the floury taste. Remove from heat. Add the grated and cubed cheddar cheese and stir until the cubed cheese is 1/2 melted. If the cheese doesn't melt, you can return the pan to the stove on a low flame, stirring constantly to keep the sauce from scorching. Add cheese sauce to the pasta and mix thoroughly. Press the pasta mixture into the pans and top with the bread crumbs, grated cheese and dot with the butter pats. Bake for 30 minutes. The dish is ready when the top is browned and the mac 'n' cheese is bubbly.
JACKIE'S MACARONI AND CHEESE
This favorite comfort food is an OUTSTANDING recipe for Mac N Cheese. Rich, creamy and custardy, this amazing delight is "THE BEST" Macaroni And Cheese I have ever had the pleasure of tasting... Try it, it will become your FAVORITE too!!! Please Note: The Louisiana and Crystal hot sauce just adds flavor, and is not hot in flavor like Tabasco. I put a little twist on this recipe and made it, adding in a can of Ro-tel tomatoes with mild green chilies. It was GREAT! I just posted some pictures

EASIEST HOMESTYLE MACARONI AND CHEESE
My family always expects the 'real deal' homemade macaroni and cheese, and this recipe passed the 'family taste test' with flying colors on Easter. However, this time it was much easier to make, using jarred Alfredo sauce instead of homemade white sauce. Try it. It's easy as pie, and FABULOUS!

Tips:
- Use a good quality cheese. The type of cheese you use will greatly affect the flavor of your macaroni and cheese. Cheddar is a classic choice, but you can also try other cheeses like Gouda, Gruyère, or Parmesan.
- Cook the macaroni al dente. This means that it should be cooked until it is tender but still has a slight bite to it. Overcooked macaroni will make your macaroni and cheese mushy.
- Make a roux. A roux is a mixture of butter and flour that is used to thicken the cheese sauce. A roux will help to make your macaroni and cheese smooth and creamy.
- Season the cheese sauce. Don't forget to season your cheese sauce with salt, pepper, and other spices. This will help to enhance the flavor of the dish.
- Add mix-ins. You can add a variety of mix-ins to your macaroni and cheese to make it even more delicious. Some popular mix-ins include cooked bacon, diced ham, peas, and broccoli.
Conclusion:
Macaroni and cheese is a classic comfort food that is loved by people of all ages. It is a simple dish to make, but it can be easily customized to suit your own taste. With a few simple tips, you can make the best macaroni and cheese that you have ever tasted.
