JENNIE'S HEAVENLY SLOW COOKER CHICKEN

Jennie's Heavenly Slow Cooker Chicken image

This is the best chicken slow cooker recipe ever, and I've tried a lot of them. I can't remember where I originally got it from; my version has been tweaked a little. I don't like mushrooms, but the mushrooms in the condensed soup are really big and easy to take out. Serve over hot cooked rice.

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 tablespoons Butter
.7 ounces 1 package dry Italian-style salad dressing mix
10.75 ounces 1 can condensed golden mushroom soup
8 ounces 1 container chive and onion cream chease
1/2 cup dry white wine

Steps:

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, and stir in the salad dressing mix, mushroom soup, cream cheese, and wine until the sauce mixture is hot, smooth and well combined.

Tips:

  • Use bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts or thighs for the most flavorful results.
  • Don't overcrowd the slow cooker. If you're cooking a lot of chicken, cook it in batches or use a larger slow cooker.
  • Add plenty of vegetables to the slow cooker. This will help to create a flavorful broth and prevent the chicken from drying out.
  • Season the chicken generously with salt and pepper, and add other spices and herbs to taste. You can also add a splash of white wine or chicken broth for extra flavor.
  • Cook the chicken on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  • Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes before shredding or slicing.
  • Serve the chicken with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables.

Conclusion:

This slow-cooker chicken recipe is a great way to get a delicious and flavorful meal with minimal effort. The chicken is cooked to perfection in the slow cooker, and the vegetables are tender and flavorful. This recipe is perfect for a busy weeknight meal, or for a potluck or party.
