- Third, you should have a medium-sized mixing bowl where you would put the whisk with its dressing ingredients.
- Fourth, you should put all the vegetables needed in the bowl and stir them up using a wooden spoon.
- Next, you should always keep your bowl wrapped in a saran always covered.
- For optimal results, you should place the finished product inside the fridge and keep it there for approximately four hours, which is preferred to be done overnight.
- Finally, before serving your coleslaw, mix and stir it again.
- Serve fresh for best results.

- Mix sugar, salt, pepper, mayonnaise, milk, buttermilk, celery seed, hot pepper sauce, and minced onion together; let sit for 15 minutes.
- Mix cabbage, carrots, and dressing together in a large bowl.
- Let sit for at least 1 hour up to 24 hours.
- Serve.
- Notes: Buttermilk can be replaced by milk with a little bit of vinegar in it, or sour cream, yogurt, or whey milk. Dry minced onions can be replaced by 1/2 cup fresh chopped onion or green onion.
