GLAZED PINEAPPLE KIELBASA BITES RECIPE

Glazed Pineapple Kielbasa Bites Recipe image

Provided by dmscott52

Number Of Ingredients 8

FOR THE GLAZE:
1 ( 14 oz.) regular Kielbasa, sliced
1 (20 oz.) can pineapple chunks, reserve juice
3 T. Teriyaki sauce
1 T. sweet chili sauce
1 T. honey
1 T. pineapple juice (from can)
fro garnish: plain toothpicks

Steps:

  • 1. Soak your toothpicks in water for 20 minutes before baking. Be sure to use plain ( not colored) toothpicks. I learned from experience that the colored toothpicks will bleed and discolor the food. 2.Preheat oven to 425 F. degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 3. Place a piece of pineapple in tip of a slice of kielbasa and place on the parchment lined pan. (I wait to put the toothpicks in until after I glaze. The reason being that if you get glaze on the tops of the toothpicks, it will burn in the oven.) 4. In a small bowl combine glaze ingredients.*** Glaze the kielbasa and pineapple bites. Stick each portion with a plain toothpick. 5. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until hot. Let cool slightly and serve warm. *** I made extra batch of sauce for dipping.

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 4

12 oz polish kielbasa ( sounds like key-basa)
2 Tbsp dijon mustard
1/4 c a good maple syrup
skewers

Steps:

  • 1. Cut kielbasa into bite size pieces. Dip pieces into a mixture of ma[ple syrup whisked with mustard. thread sausages on skewers and grill on medium heat, about 3-4 minutes per side till browned and heated through.
  • 2. Serves 6 or 3 hungry people.

Tips for Making Kielbasa Bites:

  • Choose the Right Kielbasa: Opt for a high-quality kielbasa with a good flavor and texture. Look for a variety that is not too greasy or salty.
  • Slice the Kielbasa Evenly: Cut the kielbasa into uniform pieces to ensure even cooking. This will help prevent some pieces from overcooking while others remain undercooked.
  • Use a Hot Skillet: Heat your skillet over medium-high heat before adding the kielbasa bites. This will help sear the outside of the kielbasa and keep it from sticking to the pan.
  • Don't Crowd the Skillet: Avoid overcrowding the skillet with kielbasa bites. This will prevent them from cooking evenly and could cause them to steam rather than brown.
  • Flip the Kielbasa Regularly: Use a spatula to flip the kielbasa bites regularly to ensure that they cook evenly on all sides.
  • Add Vegetables: Feel free to add your favorite vegetables to the skillet along with the kielbasa bites. This will create a more flavorful and colorful dish.
  • Use a Thermometer: If you are unsure whether the kielbasa bites are cooked through, insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of a bite. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C) to ensure safety.
