Number Of Ingredients 11

dressing:
1 cabbage, coarsely shredded
1 bunch green onions, chopped
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 pkg. ramen noodles, broken
2 tbsp. sesame seeds (I use sunflower)
1 c. slivered almonds
1/4 c. cider vinegar
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsp soy sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350. Mix seeds, nuts, butter and ramen and spread on cookie sheet. Bake, turning, until brown. Boil dressing ingredients for 1 minute, then let cool. Combine all ingredients before serving.

Tips:

  • For a creamy coleslaw, use mayonnaise or sour cream as the dressing base. For a lighter coleslaw, use a vinegar-based dressing.
  • Shred the cabbage and carrots finely for a classic coleslaw texture. For a more crunchy coleslaw, shred them more coarsely.
  • Add other vegetables to your coleslaw, such as shredded broccoli, cauliflower, or bell pepper.
  • Add some chopped nuts or seeds to your coleslaw for extra crunch and flavor.
  • Season your coleslaw with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Chill your coleslaw for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
