Tips:

  • Select the Freshest Fish: Use fresh fish for the best flavor and texture. Look for fish with bright, clear eyes, firm flesh, and a mild odor.
  • Proper Cleaning: Clean and gut the fish thoroughly before cooking. Remove the scales, fins, and entrails, and rinse the fish inside and out with cold water.
  • Marinate the Fish: Marinating the fish in a mixture of herbs, spices, and citrus juices helps infuse flavor and keep the fish moist during baking.
  • Use Quality Ingredients: Use fresh herbs, spices, and vegetables for the best flavor. Freshly ground spices provide a more intense aroma and taste.
  • Cook at the Right Temperature: Preheat the oven to the correct temperature before baking the fish. The ideal temperature depends on the type of fish and the recipe.
  • Don't Overcook: Fish cooks quickly, so be careful not to overcook it. Overcooked fish becomes dry and tough. It's better to slightly undercook the fish and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve with Fresh Accompaniments: Serve the baked fish with fresh lemon wedges, herbs, and a flavorful sauce. Grilled vegetables or a simple salad make excellent side dishes.
