Steps:
- Make the simple syrup by boiling water and stirring in an equal measurement of sugar until dissolved (i.e. one cup water + one cup sugar).
- Stir the simple syrup, lime juice, and tequila together.
- Cut a lime into wedges and use one wedge to wet the rim of the glass. Place salt in a dish and tip the glass upside down into the salt so it sticks to the wet rim.
- Add ice cubes to each glass and pour the margaritas into the glasses - these will be strong and a big handful of ice helps balance it all out. We also put the ice right in the pitcher for our last party and that worked fine, too. Place a little lime wedge on the rim of the glass as pictured for looks!

Steps:
- In a 5-gallon sports cooler combine all ingredients except reserve some water. Stir or shake container to chill. If ice all melts add more. If too strong add water, but leave on the strong side because ice will continue to dilute over the next few hours. Makes about 2 1/2 gallons.
- Just like Party Margarita recipe, you should serve with lime wedges, a saucer of kosher salt, and 6-oz plastic cups like airlines use. Lime the rim, touch the rim to the salt, drop the lime into the cup, and dispense.

MARGARITAS FOR A CROWD

Yield 20 to 24 old-fashioned margaritas

Steps:
- Just before serving, in a half gallon pitcher combine the tequila, the minimum amount of Cointreau or Triple Sec and the lime juice. Taste and add more orange liqueur if you think your margaritas need more sweet oranginess to balance the other flavors. Remember, you're tasting it warm and undiluted; when chilled and diluted, the flavors will be mellower and the lime's tartness will be more attractive.
- Pour several tablespoons of lime juice onto a small plate and several tablespoons coarse salt onto another. Have martini glasses at hand (chill them for an extra special touch).
- As your guests ask for their margaritas, invert a glass into the plate with the lime juice to moisten rim, then lightly dip into the plate with the salt. For each drink measure 2 ounces (1/4 cup) of the margarita mixture into a cocktail shaker. If you have a 2-ounce ladle that you can keep in the pitcher, measuring goes much faster. Add ice cubes (5 cubes for 1, 8 for 2, 10 for 3). Secure the lid and top and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds. Strain into the salt crusted glasses and hand off to the lucky recipients
Tips:
- Choose high-quality ingredients. Fresh limes, good tequila, and Cointreau will make all the difference in the taste of your margarita.
- Use a good blender. A high-powered blender will help you achieve a smooth, frozen margarita.
- Don't overcrowd the blender. If you're making a large batch of margaritas, blend them in batches.
- Chill your ingredients. Chilling the lime juice, tequila, and Cointreau will help make your margarita extra refreshing.
- Add some salt. A rim of salt on your margarita glass is a classic touch that adds a bit of flavor and helps to balance out the sweetness of the drink.
Conclusion:
With these tips in mind, you're sure to make a delicious batch of margaritas that will be the hit of your next party. So gather your friends, fire up the blender, and enjoy!
