Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 pkg 8 oz. each cream cheese, softened
1/4 c mayonnaise
1 pkg good seasons garlic and herb dry salad dressing mix
1 bottle seafood cocktail sauce
1 pkg (12 oz.) imitation crab
1 pkg tiny shrimp
1 c finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese
old bay seasoning

Steps:

  • 1. Soften cream cheese at room temperature. While this is softening, finely chop the package of imitation crab and set aside.
  • 2. With hand mixer, beat cream cheese with the mayonnaise until smooth and then beat in the dry garlic and herb dressing mix.
  • 3. Spread the cream cheese mixture on a large platter.
  • 4. Spread a layer of cocktail sauce over the cream cheese mixture.
  • 5. Put imitation crab and shrimp over the cocktail sauce. Sprinkle lightly with Old Bay seasoning.
  • 6. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top. Serve and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Choose the freshest crab meat possible. Fresh crab meat will have a sweet, delicate flavor. Avoid crab meat that is frozen or canned, as it will have a less desirable flavor and texture.
  • Use a variety of cheeses. A combination of cheeses will give your dip a more complex flavor. Try using a combination of cream cheese, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese.
  • Add some spice. If you like spicy food, add some cayenne pepper, chili powder, or Old Bay seasoning to your dip. You can also add some chopped jalapeƱos or habaneros.
  • Garnish your dip with fresh herbs. Fresh herbs will add a pop of color and flavor to your dip. Try using chives, parsley, dill, or cilantro.
  • Serve your dip with a variety of dippers. Serve your dip with crackers, chips, vegetables, or bread. You can also serve it with wonton wrappers or spring roll wrappers.
