Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 pkg stuffing mix, chicken
1 can(s) cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1/4 c milk
1 pkg ( 1 lb. ) frozen meatballs
2 c peas, frozen petite
1 c shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 400*
  • 2. Prepare stuffing mix as directed on pkg.
  • 3. Mix soup and milk in a 13x9 baking dish. Stir in meatballs and peas; top with cheese and stuffing.
  • 4. Bake 20-25 mins. or until heated through.
  • 5. Variation: Prepare as directed, substituting 1 can ( 14 1/2 oz ) diced tomatoes for the soup, omitting milk and using Italian-flavored meatballs and shredded low-moisture part-skim mozzarella cheese.

Tips:

  • Choose the right meatballs: For the best results, use high-quality, pre-cooked meatballs. You can find these in the frozen food section of most grocery stores.
  • Make your own meatballs: If you have the time, you can also make your own meatballs. This will give you more control over the flavor and ingredients.
  • Use a variety of cheeses: Don't be afraid to experiment with different types of cheeses. A good combination is a blend of mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan.
  • Add some vegetables: Vegetables can add flavor, texture, and nutrients to your bake. Try adding some chopped onions, peppers, or mushrooms.
  • Don't overcook the meatballs: The meatballs should be cooked through, but not overcooked. Otherwise, they will become tough and dry.
  • Let the bake cool before serving: This will allow the flavors to meld and the bake to set.

Conclusion:

Layered meatball bake is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal or a potluck. With its combination of meatballs, cheese, and sauce, it is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you are looking for a quick and satisfying meal, give this recipe a try.
