Tips:

  • Use fresh lemons: Fresh lemons provide the best flavor, color, and aroma to your gelatin. If you don't have fresh lemons, you can use bottled lemon juice, but the flavor will be less intense.
  • Zest your lemons before juicing them: The zest contains a lot of the lemon's flavor, so zesting your lemons before juicing them will give your gelatin a more intense lemon flavor.
  • Use gelatin powder or sheets: Gelatin powder or sheets are the most common types of gelatin used for making lemon gelatin. Gelatin powder is easier to use, but gelatin sheets are said to produce a clearer and more consistent gel.
  • Follow the package directions for preparing the gelatin: The package directions for preparing gelatin will vary depending on the type of gelatin you are using. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully to ensure that your gelatin sets properly.
  • Chill the gelatin before serving: Gelatin needs to be chilled before serving in order to set properly. Chill the gelatin in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible.
