LITE FRUIT SALAD WITH HONEY POPPY SEED DRESSING BY PAULA DEEN

Lite Fruit Salad With Honey Poppy Seed Dressing by Paula Deen image

Another recipe from her cooking show. I found it made more dressing than I had salad for and it was a little on the sweet side so next time I'll add more salad ingredients and cut down on the honey, and I suppose you could even reserve the juice from the can of mandarin oranges and use that for the orange juice in the dressing.

  • Don't be afraid to mix and match different fruits. The more variety, the better the salad will be.
  • If you're using a sweeter fruit, like grapes or bananas, you can reduce the amount of honey in the dressing.
  • If you're short on time, you can use a store-bought poppy seed dressing. Just be sure to choose one that is light and not too sweet.
  • Serve the fruit salad immediately after making it. The longer it sits, the more the fruit will break down and the salad will become less crisp.
