Tips:

  • Use a variety of beans. This will give your soup a more complex flavor and texture. Some good options include navy beans, pinto beans, black beans, and kidney beans.
  • Soak your beans overnight. This will help to soften them and reduce the cooking time. If you don't have time to soak your beans overnight, you can quick-soak them by boiling them for 1 minute, then removing them from the heat and letting them sit for 1 hour.
  • Use a flavorful broth. The broth is the base of your soup, so it's important to use a good one. You can use chicken broth, vegetable broth, or even water. If you're using water, you may want to add some extra seasonings, such as salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Add vegetables. Vegetables add flavor, texture, and nutrients to your soup. Some good options include carrots, celery, onions, and potatoes. You can also add other vegetables, such as corn, green beans, or tomatoes.
  • Season your soup to taste. Once you've added all of your ingredients, taste your soup and adjust the seasonings as needed. You may want to add more salt, pepper, or other spices.
